Visual artist, printmaking grandmaster and art educator, Dr. Kunle Adeyemi, through the Kunle Adeyemi & Muse Foundation for Art, Hope & Reintegration, is set to celebrate the artistic achievements of inmates at the Maximum Custodial Centre, Kirikiri, Apapa, Lagos.
The foundation, in collaboration with the Nigeria Correctional Service, Lagos State Command, will hold a Certificate Awarding and Art Exhibition Ceremony on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 12 noon.
The event marks an important moment for visual arts education within the custodial centre, recognising inmates who have undertaken studies in visual arts. It also reflects the potential of art to encourage self-expression, develop creative skills and support rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
Dr. Adeyemi, a respected Nigerian artist and former lecturer at Yaba College of Technology, has consistently championed art education, mentorship and opportunities for emerging talents. Through this initiative, the foundation extends that commitment to a setting where creativity can offer new possibilities for personal growth and a future beyond incarceration.
The ceremony will bring together the foundation, correctional authorities and invited guests to recognise the participants and celebrate their creative efforts.
