He revolutionized the art of television comedy through his hit sitcom Baba Sala and his Awada Keri Keri and which catapulted him to super status as a lead comedian in Nigerian entertainment industry.

Moses Olaiya Adejumo, the undisputed king of comedy in Nigerian entertainment industry has passed away from media sources. He died aged 82. The amiable actor and musician actually started his entertainment odyssey as a musician and helped to hone the skills of many notable artistes in the 1950s and 60s respectively such as the Grammy nominee King Sunny Ade. Baba Sala, as he was fondly called made television comedy one of the most important family show on TV in the 70s with his wave making theater company. The theatre group also held performances across the continent of Africa through their rib cracking scripts and perfomances, thereby, leaving a whole lot of fans with stitches.

He was actually one of the pioneers of theatre companies in Nigeria and Africa making contributions to Africa’s entertainment industry and had a breakthrough with one of his many episodes entitled Tokunbo, a hilarious comedy that showcased the ace comedian’s sojourn in the United Kingdom when he decided to visit a friend for summer. His performances on TV and stage took him to cinema and he shot a world acclaimed film titled ‘Orun Moru.’ More success came his way from the TV sitcom which led to acquisition of patrons from different strata of life.

The king of comedy didn’t relent on Orun Moru, as he shot another hilarious film for the cinema titled ‘Mosebolatan that also got him critical acclaim Moses Adejumo will surely be remembered for his love for beautiful society laughing always and all the time. His contributions to music, theater, TV and film will never be forgotten.

He died aged 82.
