The first edition of the African Culture and Design Festival “This is Africa ” was a remarkable experience in 2017. A unique vision for the continent bringing Classical African Art, African Design and Modern and Contemporary African Art under one roof. As Lagos and Nigeria played host to the world through International Federation of Interior Architects Congress (IFI ) the ACDF showed depth and breadth of our art and culture.

Works from some of Africa’s great modern artists were presented. Works from Aina Onabolu, Akinola Lasekan, Ben Enwonwu, Uche Okeke, and J.D Okhai Ojeikere to Valente Malangatana, Gerard Sekoto, Cecil Skotnas to pioneering women artists such as Suzanne Wenger and Gladys Mgudlandhu.
