Nigerian popular afro soul musician and a veteran of original music, the legendary Eppi Fanio still continues to run Farofa music on our minds. And for a man whose date of birth, January 6th is symbolic to the life of the King of kings, Eppi Fanio is a born royalty.

He clocked 76 years old on the day of the Epiphany. The reason his parents named him Prince Adebambo Epiphanio Joseph, known simply as Eppi Fanio. A native of Lagos. Eppi grew up listening to good music while getting education to get started. Eppi Fanio is also a prince from one of the ruling houses in Lagos.

Eppi Fanio was born on the day of Epiphany. A day that celebrates the three wise men’s visit to infant Jesus and also a day to remember His baptism.

Eppi’s fan base has refused to diminish despite not having constant feature at concerts and shows but his memorable albums such as ‘Killer Afro Disco’ released in 1978 and ‘Ikoko ti o Jata’ which was a true life event that he experienced.

The song actually came out as one monstrous hit. But it all started when Eppi found himself in a distressed state of mind, as he shared with iBAND Magazine.

After recording series of numbers with his producer, it looked as if all the hardwork put in the making of the album were going to go down the drain, as they could not find the master tape. The material simply disappeard into thin air.
But Epiphany counts for Eppi, and he refused to give up. He decided to add more numbers to the body of work. ‘Ikoko’ , figurately means the Pot and which literally means ‘No Pain No Gain’ became a monumental hit and made the Epiphany a mission accomplished.

Currently, Eppi Fanio lives in OPIC Agbara, Ogun State.
