My dear fellow Nigerians: I need you to help the CBAAC/ #FESTAC Museum thrive. You must have seen this building (pictured) on Broad Street — right on the ground floor is the museum that preserves several objects, literature and audiovisuals from Festac 77.

It’s prime property, and in a prime location.

But it’s in a terrible shape because it’s run by an arm of government (which starves it of funds) and because most Nigerians don’t know it’s even there.

Our children deserve to experience this place. As adults, we also need to see it. And you know what? Entry is a pittance (N200/child and N500/adult).

If 100 people visit the place every week and we do that for a year, the change I seek will happen.

It’s open on weekdays and runs like all government offices (8am-4pm)

If we do this, I believe strongly that we will have helped to revive an important cultural and architecture heritage. As a consequence, management will wake up and put its house in order.
