In the heart of Lagos, amidst the bustling commerce and cultural vibrancy, lies the City Mall, Onikan—a testament to the city’s dynamic spirit. Overlooking the tranquil lagoon, the Mall stands as a beacon of creativity, complemented by the iconic Musical Society of Nigeria hall, fondly known as MUSON Center, and the stately National Museum.

Sometimes, at the moment, driving along the iconic 3rd Mainland Bridge could be problematic, if you are not prepared, due to the rehabilitation of one of the longest bridges in Africa. The traffic diversion is telling on the Mainland residents but the rehabilitation is desired and will serve positively.

Hot and dry, Lagos can be pretty cool as soon as you get out of the daily humongous traffic into the Onikan end of Lagos. And the City Mall stands tall to usher you into a fresher space. The mall is for royals, as it evokes royalty spirit. In the mall, everyday is a milestone.

Ojogbogbobiodun Omolayo is a quintessential gentleman. I have written about him several times. But I never knew his name. What a name! “I had an encounter with my father, later on, in life and he quickly explained to me why that name will always be special and I should make it special daily. My father asserted that everyday is a milestone. I should celebrate everyday,” the artist reminisces. His parents picture adorned his office at a unique corner, creating a joyous presence for his cosy office. The artist enthuses further, “like my daughter whose name is Iteoluwakishii. She knows her name and the meaning right from the age of five. I have instructed them at school, never to change the name. Rather, the name should be pronounced and written at full length.”
