Nigeria’s largest music collector Evergreen Musical Company has joined the Lagos State Government in the continuous fight against CoronaVirus Pandemic.

According to Bimbo Esho , the Managing Director of Evergreen Music, she made it known during an interview session that the song titled *”ORIN AJUMOSE “* *SONG OF SYNERGY* was inspired by the popular Lagos State Slogan ‘IGBEGA EKO TI DI AJUMOSE’. She said the song will be distributed to all radio and television stations across Nigeria to further ‘sensitize’ the public particularly the ‘grassroots’ on ways to prevent and contain the spread of the pandemic disease known as coronavirus.

She gives applaud to the governor of Lagos state, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his team on the proactive measures taken in combating this dreadful disease within the state.

Bimbo who graduated as an anthropologist from the prestigious University of Ibadan, recalls that research studies showed the first major outbreak of a similar “epidemic’ like Covid- 19 in 1920 (100 years ago) and called ‘Spanish influenza’.

The outbreak of Spanish influenza resulted in the total lockdown of businesses, schools (public and private), religious centers, theatres and entertainment centers.

This brilliant music collector, educates further, how music, for so long has since been a powerful force and healing dose to heal the world and create relief, calm tension during global scourge.

Bimbo gave an instance of the Jazz Music Icon Louis Armstrong, who recorded the Evergreen Song “What a Wonderful World”* *1968* and dedicated it to the victims of ‘Vietnam War’ with the hope of mending some shattered lives.

And not forgetting the evergreen song made by ‘United Support of Artistes for Africa’ We Are the World” written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie in 1985 to relieve starving people in Africa, especially Ethopia where around one million people died during the country’s 1983 – 1985 famine.

Memories keep flowing from one of the most passionate music collector in Africa when she remembered in 1971, how popular Nigerian juju music icon, Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey, (MON)released a song about the outbreak of ‘Cholera’ infection. She made it known that few Nigerian indigenous musicians like *Kwam 1, Ibitayo Jeje, Amo Musicals, Orits Wiliki, Esther Igbekele, Adegbodu Twins, Lanre Teriba, Dele Gold, Mega99, have also raised their voices in sensitising the public.

But today, she is calling out on other Nigerian musicians and musical associations to support the government in the fight against this virus.
