The celebration of International Women’s Day on 8th of March 2024 at Erelu Yeye Odua Cultural Renaissance Center lived up to the billing and women were celebrated with appreciated inspirations.

The International Women’s Day of 2024, themed “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,” was the crowning jewel that illuminated the grandeur of the Erelu Yeye Odua Cultural Renaissance Center on the 8th of March 2024. Nestled at No. 8 Oyinkan Abayomi Drive in Ikoyi, Lagos, the event unfolded like a captivating masterpiece. The esteemed women of Lagos graced the occasion, converging for the prestigious exhibition titled “Inspired Eves.”

The guest list boasted luminaries from every echelon of society, including the Vice Chancellor of one of Africa’s most esteemed universities, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, whose keynote address underscored the significance of honoring women across all spheres of life. The event also served as a poignant tribute to the Erelu Yeye Odua Foundation, founded by the illustrious Dr. Abiola Dosunmu Fernandez, who also served as the gracious host of the affair.

Among the luminaries in attendance were Dr. Mrs. Titilayo Anibaba, and Honorable Toki Mabogunje, former president of the Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Notable figures such as Biodun Archibong, representing the esteemed Ella Akinyele, and Professor Jeleel Ojuade, the Vice Chancellor of Ojaja University, Ilorin, Kwara State, added to the illustrious gathering.

Adding colour with her grandeur to the occasion was Commissioner for Coperative trade and Investment, Lagos State, Mrs. Folasade Ambrose – Medebem

Distinguished guests also included renowned IT expert Tunde Arogunmati, Executive Director of African Incentive Partnerships, as well as Mrs. Olabisi Shonibare, representing the Secretary to the State Government in Lagos State, Barrister Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin. The event was further adorned by the presence of Olumuyiwa Ojelabi, Head of Public Affairs in the office of the Secretary to the State Government in Lagos State, alongside luminaries such as StellaMario Ochenya Osugba of Zutari Consulting and Mrs. Ronke Babs Odubanjo.

In a testament to its commitment to social responsibility, the Erelu Yeye Odua Foundation’s charity arm extended support to primary schools, providing financial aid for their school feeding programs. Additionally, indigent female entrepreneurs and widows received empowerment to elevate their businesses and projects to new heights of success. The event epitomized the spirit of glamour and philanthropy, embodying the vibrant essence of Lagos.
