Next Tuesday, May 14, at 19:00, the Rafael Requena Museum will be the stage of an unprecedented watercolor event, organized by the Culture Council of Caudete City Council. This event will not only celebrate art and culture, but will also offer a unique window into the rich history of African watercolor.

The evening will begin with the presentation of the book “Tales of Africa” at the Rafael Requena Museum: A Journey Through African Watercolor. This work plunges its readers into the cultural depths of the continent, exploring its picturesque landscapes and the essence of the African people through the magnificent technique of watercolor.

Afterwards, three prominent international watercolorists will hold simultaneous demonstrations, sharing their talent and passion for art:

Jonathan Kwegyir Aggrey: Originally from Ghana, Aggrey is a talented watercolorist awarded with prestigious international awards. His work has been recognized globally, being the only African watercolorist admitted to the prestigious annual exhibition of the American Watercolor Society in New York, United States.

Rabia Nawab: Hailing from Pakistan, Nawab is not only a prominent watercolorist but also a professor at Punjab University. Her work reflects a delicacy and mastery that has made her worthy of international recognition.

Ana Hernández Morote: With a career enriched by various awards, Morote is a Spanish watercolorist whose work has been acclaimed both nationally and internationally.

This activity forms part of the acts prior to the International Biennial of New Techniques, Concepts and Developments in Watercolor of Caudete, organized in collaboration with the Villa de Caudete Art Workshop. This event aims to promote mediation through art, transcending language and cultural barriers to democratize culture and make it accessible to all.
