A&M Foundation for Contemporary Art has announced the commencement of its Curatorial Intensive dedicated to emerging curators and art critics working within the contemporary African art scene, both on the continent and in the diaspora. Designed as a virtual five-day intensive participation for this edition, the program will run from August 19 – 23, 2024. It will be facilitated by esteemed international art professionals with expertise in museum practices, art publications, and the critical fields of documenting and archiving.
This curatorial intensive offers a rigorous learning experience, designed to equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge required to navigate the complexities of curatorial practice in contemporary African art. Under the guidance of leading experts, participants will engage in a comprehensive curriculum that includes both theoretical and practical components.

Eligibility and Application Process
The Curatorial Intensive is open to emerging curators with 3-5 years of professional experience who have demonstrated a commitment to curatorial practice within the contemporary African art scene. Applicants should possess a strong foundational understanding of the field and a clear vision for their professional trajectory.
