She is a British Nigerian multidisciplinary artist and sculptor born in London. She stands out as one of the most esteemed visual artists in Nigeria and on the African continent. She returned to Nigeria to study at the University of Nigeria Nsukka, where she earned a BA in mixed media painting.
She is internationally recognised as a self-taught sculptor based in Lagos with decades of experience in transgressive sculptural practice.
In response to contemporary issues such as politics, protectionism, nationalism, and globalisation, Dike works primarily as a multimedia artist. She has a special interest in personal archives and long-term research-based projects, engaging with global histories to address pre- and post-colonial legacies, forced migration, and memory, among others. Her work relates to “Atlantic World Relations,” focusing on the circulation of bodies, ideas, performances, and cultures within the Atlantic world.
