Shalamar Lights Up Nigeria’s Independence Day and Visits Silent Conversations

October 1st, 2025 is shaping up to be unforgettable. Legendary R&B group Shalamar is returning to Nigeria, more than 40 years after their electrifying 1982 shows at the National Theatre in Lagos and Ogbe Stadium in Benin. Back then, Jeffrey Daniel’s moonwalk sent shockwaves through pop culture long before Michael Jackson made it global.

This Independence Day, the groove continues. Shalamar will not only hit the stage but also step into the world of art. At the Exhibition Pavilion, artist James Irabor unveils Silent Conversations, a powerful solo exhibition of 30 works that explore silence, dialogue, and everything in between.
