The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria National Essay Competition is now officially open for entries for its 5th edition.

The competition continues to provide a platform for young Nigerians to showcase their creativity, critical thinking, and understanding of issues shaping Nigeria’s energy future. Over the years, the competition has attracted thousands of students across the country and remains committed to promoting academic excellence, innovation, and national development.

Students are invited to submit original essays that reflect depth, originality, clarity, and relevance to this year’s topics.

Senior Secondary School Category (SSS 1)

The Role of Indigenous Capacity in Advancing Nigeria’s Energy Sector
(800 Words)

*Essay Review Process*

All submitted essays will undergo a thorough and impartial review process conducted by a distinguished panel of reviewers. Essays will be assessed based on:

* Grammar and spelling
* Originality and creativity
* Depth of research and analysis
* Relevance to the topic and industry
* Adherence to competition guidelines

Shortlisted participants will be contacted for the next stage of the competition after the review process is completed.
