Yesterday marked the opening of Open Atelier 2024, an event that continues to impress and elevate the artistic community in Antwerp. Hosted by the dedicated Anne Marie Parys and her exceptional team, this year’s gathering was a testament to the spirit of collaboration and creativity.

Having participated in Open Atelier for nearly 15 years, I can confidently say it remains the pinnacle of my professional journey as an artist. Unlike other events dominated by competition and commercialism, Open Atelier fosters an inclusive atmosphere where artists support one another. Here, there are no greedy dealers seeking quick profits, no pretentious curators dictating terms, and no ostentatious collectors showcasing wealth. Instead, it is simply a collective of talented individuals sharing their work with genuine enthusiasm.

This year’s event beautifully encapsulated what it means to be part of an artistic community—where creativity thrives free from the constraints of ego and commercial pressure. Open Atelier is not just an exhibition; it is a heartfelt celebration of artistry that continues to inspire all who participate.
