Prof Bruce Onobrakpeya’s attendance at WAES 2025 @waesummit is a remarkable privilege.

Prof. Bruce Obomeyoma Onobrakpeya, NNOM, UNESCO Living Human Treasure and pioneer of modern Nigerian printmaking, remains a towering force in global art. At 92, his 2025 solo exhibition The Mask and the Cross at the Smithsonian drew international acclaim, while his works featured in When We See Us (BOZAR, Brussels) and Nigerian Modernism (Tate Modern, London). A Zaria Art Society founder, his six-decade career blends innovation with cultural depth. Celebrated as a Living Legend at ArtMiabo and a Grandmaster of Printmaking, Onobrakpeya continues to mentor emerging artists through his Harmattan Workshop, proving that artistic brilliance knows no age.
