This Children’s Day, the renowned Omolayo Gallery will host a colourful and immersive Sip & Paint Experience themed “Bring Out the Child in You.” The creative gathering is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 1:00PM to 4:00PM at Lagos City Mall, Onikan, Lagos.

The experience promises an afternoon of painting, relaxation, music, games and meaningful human connection in an atmosphere designed to awaken imagination and emotional wellness. Guests are encouraged to “dress like their younger self” and embrace colour, playfulness and freedom of expression.

More than just a social event, the initiative reflects the long-standing vision of celebrated Nigerian visual artist and mentor Biodun Omolayo, whose dedication to nurturing creativity among children and adults has shaped generations of young talents across Nigeria.

For over two decades, Biodun Omolayo’s “Young at Art” workshops have become one of Lagos’ most consistent creative platforms for children, teenagers and families. Through art mentorship, emotional development and creative education, the programme has impacted thousands of young participants while encouraging parents to see creativity as a powerful tool for confidence and personal growth.

According to reports by iBAND Magazine, the workshop initiative has grown from a modest neighbourhood art outreach into a respected creative institution that has produced graduates, artists and professionals excelling across different disciplines. The gallery itself has also evolved into a major cultural destination for exhibitions, mentorship and artistic exchange in Lagos.

The upcoming Sip & Paint event continues this legacy, but with a refreshing twist aimed at adults seeking healing, laughter and reconnection through creativity. Organisers describe the gathering as an opportunity to temporarily let go of the pressures of modern life and return to the innocence, curiosity and joy often lost in adulthood.

Tickets are priced at ₦24,000 per person, with packages covering canvas and painting supplies, guided painting sessions, drinks, music, games, photo moments and aprons.
